Lori Hill Marshall, M.D., FASA has served as President and CEO of Premier Pain Care, P.C. in Jackson since 2012. Dr. Marshall’s special areas of interest include cancer pain, oral and maxillofacial pain, failed back surgery syndrome, pediatric pain, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, spinal and peripheral neuromodulation, and complex regional pain syndrome. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA). She is involved in medical research and has published and presented numerous scientific works and co-authored a book chapter.
Prior to founding Premier Pain Care, P.C., she served as Assistant Professor for the Department of Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine at UMMC. While at UMMC, Dr. Marshall also served as the Director of the Anesthesiology Internship Program, Director of the Chronic and Interventional Pain Rotation for the Pain Medicine Fellowship Program, and Program Coordinator and Recruiter for the Medcorp Direct Program through the Division of Multicultural Affairs. Dr. Marshall was valedictorian of her high school class at Madison Central High School. She earned an undergraduate degree of a B.S. in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi with Honors and was a graduate of the Honors College. She was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 2000. She received her M.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She was a recipient of the Don Q.Mitchell Barksdale Scholarship for academic excellence, the Leonard Fabian Award for excellence in Anesthesiology, and the Neuroscience Critical Care Award. Dr. Marshall completed residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2009 and served as Chief Resident during her senior year. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is a 2018graduate of the Mississippi Physician Leadership Academy. She was the recipient of the 2019 Women in Medicine Award and the 2018 Doctor of Distinction Award by the Mississippi State Medical Association. She has been recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as a Top 10 in the Top 50 under 40, Top 50 Business Women, and a Healthcare Hero.
Dr. Marshall holds active memberships and has held numerous leadership roles in numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, National Medical Association, and Mississippi State Medical Association in which she serves on the Council on Budget and Finance and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees (District 2). Currently, she is the Director of the Mississippi Society of Anesthesiologists. She also serves on the American Society of Anesthesiologists Board of Directors as well as several National Committees and Subcommittees for the American Society of Anesthesiologists including the Committee on Economics, Committee on Practice Management, Committee on Professional Development, Committee on Membership and Section on Fiscal Affairs.
